About Me

Mel Hanks is a public health nutritionist that specializes in food security. She has a Masters of Global Health, a BS in Food Science and Human Nutrition, and is a certified health education specialist and registered yoga teacher. Mel has been nationally recognized by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and has had her work featured in multiple media channels over the past several years. Currently, Mel works for a federal agency where she focuses on international nutrition, particularly in Sub-Saharan African countries.

Mel believes that good health means both good nutrition and a healthy mindset. She lives a life of wellness and hopes to imprint that on others wherever she goes. When she does not have her mind wrapped around nutrition and health, she can be found traveling the world or enjoying life through working out, brunching with friends, and reading zenful books.
